About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant or Medical Secretary classes, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Medical Assistant or Medical Secretary classes preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and complete information is received from patients to facilitate coordination and communication between physicians, unit staff, and ancillary departments.
  • Schedule daily tests and procedures, maintaining a comprehensive up-to-date record of all patient tests and procedures.
  • Sign patients in and out of the unit.
  • Provide receptionist functions for the unit and alert unit management to issues or needs regarding policies, procedures, or practices.
  • Perform all clerical duties associated with supporting the NICU.
