The Neonatal ICU is a Critical Care Unit within Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, caring for newborn babies born with various conditions that haven't yet been discharged to go home with their family. We build great relationships with the parents of our NICU babies since they are so frequently here at the bedside. We are the largest NICU in Michigan and care for babies from 37 counties. The NICU unit is a 108 bed unit. This position involves performing sanitization duties that require a high level of detail, maintaining supplies and equipment per hospital and unit specific standards. The role includes greeting and directing guests on the unit in a manner that reflects a welcoming environment. It is important to note that there is no direct patient care involved in this support role, and it involves 10 hour shifts of sanitizing incubators/bassinets of the NICU babies.
