We're seeking a Unit Nurse Educator, Radiology Observation Care Unit (Registered Nurse) who is regarded as a clinical expert and role model in the application of the nursing process and evidence-based practice to manage the complex care needs of specific patient populations. This individual applies principles of adult learning to plan and conduct educational sessions to promote staff development, student competence, and positive patient/family outcomes. They demonstrate foresight regarding the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes based on intuition and experience and are recognized as an expert clinician and a leader within their area of specialty. The role includes completing employee conference, risk management and unit management reports within specified time frames, remaining informed of innovative clinical trends through benchmarking and evidence-based practice, and demonstrating proficiency in teaching and precepting skills. The educator facilitates the development of unit preceptors, assists with the development of staff portfolios, and coordinates unit-based clinical orientation programs for new staff, students, and preceptors. They also integrate patient/family education activities into unit-based staff development and continuing education programs, model effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families, and effectively elicit and integrate cultural beliefs and values from patients into overall patient management and education. The educator meets all Clinical Nurse I Employee Commitments and achieves points and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain their position.
