The Unit Manager at CoreCivic is responsible for supervising staff and overseeing unit programs within a secure institutional setting.   • Supervise staff assigned to the unit and oversee unit program operations.
  • Attend administrative meetings to link the unit to the total facility operation.
  • Ensure the unit is fully staffed and manage manpower resources effectively.
  • Monitor and assess the unit's progress, addressing any deficiencies as needed.
  • Directly supervise staff performance and conduct evaluations as per facility and corporate policy.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and orienting assigned staff.
  • Communicate responsibilities, authorities, and accountability to direct subordinates clearly.
  • Complete written evaluations for all staff under direct supervision and review evaluations completed by subordinate managers or supervisors.
  • Review subordinates' payroll records and manage the use of overtime.
  • High school diploma or GED certification is required.
  • Three years of experience in a criminal justice field, including two years in a supervisory capacity or two years as a CoreCivic Case Manager or Correctional Counselor.
  • Knowledge of correctional facility management principles and practices, supervision, and training.
  • Knowledge of pertinent corrections laws, rules, and regulations.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
