Position Summary The Unit Manager - RN is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day nursing operations of an assigned unit. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining high standards of clinical quality, safety, and resident quality of life. The Unit Manager works closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to support staff performance and resident outcomes.

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
  • 1-3 years of nursing supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, best practices, and nursing standards
  • Proven leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (preferred)
  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or long-term care experience preferred
  • Wound Care Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during assigned shifts
  • Assign nurses and ensure appropriate staffing coverage
  • Ensure nursing care is delivered in accordance with care plans, physician orders, and regulatory standards
  • Monitor unit performance and report on productivity, quality, and service metrics
  • Train, coach, and evaluate nursing staff performance
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and clinical standards
  • Participate in admissions, transfers, and discharge processes
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Address concerns, complaints, and operational issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate documentation for staff records, resident care, and unit activities
  • Promote a compassionate, respectful, and supportive care environment
