About The Position

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.

Requirements

• At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital
• 2-3 years leadership experience in a hospital
• 3 or 4-year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing
• Postgraduate qualification in the unit’s specialist area (if relevant)
• Auditing and accreditation processes
• Clinical risk management
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
• Financial management
• Healthcare industry
• Human resource processes including employee relations
• Infection prevention and control
• Management of staff productivity
• Nursing functional knowledge
• Patient complaint management
• Relevant nursing legislation

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
• Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
• Lead and manage the staff in the unit
• Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
• Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
• Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
• Manage key stakeholder relations
