About The Position

The Unit Manager is a nurse leader who performs the primary functions of assessing, planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating patient care on a 24-hour basis for his/her designated unit(s). He/She manages all personnel, supplies and equipment necessary to facilitate quality patient care. He/She keeps abreast of techniques, skills, current practices and regulations appropriate to age of patients served.

Requirements

• BSN required
• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
• BLS certification required; recertification required bi-annually
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a RN in a clinical setting
• Knowledge of current theoretical approaches to patient care delivery
• Knowledge of leadership, management, and quality improvement concepts
• Ability to perform and lead program development and implementation
• Strong quality service skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to deal with the public
