Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising or managing a workgroup.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, data systems, and advanced applications used in scheduling and operational workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff, patients, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, organize work, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and workflow coordination skills.
  • Flexibility to meet operational needs, including adjusting responsibilities based on workload, staffing, and service demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or appropriate certification may be required based on departmental needs.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a hospital, healthcare, or medical‑related environment preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience Surgical Scheduler / Patient Administrative Assistance

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises the Front Desk Surgical Scheduler, ensuring accurate and timely coordination of daily surgical schedules and case updates in Epic, including oversight of telephone intake workflows such as responding to inquiries from medical teams, surgeons, and family members to support clear communication and seamless patient flow.
  • Supervises Transport Team activities during evening and/or night operations, ensuring timely completion of transport requests, equipment movement, and nightly duty assignments.
  • Monitors workflow barriers and escalate issues / report up manager to maintain safe, efficient patient flow.
  • Conducts routine rounds within perioperative areas to verify environmental readiness, including daily cleaning and terminal cleaning.
  • Collaborates with the EVS Manager to confirm completion, address deficiencies, and ensure compliance with infection‑prevention standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring continuity of service across multiple perioperative support functions.
