About The Position

Sigma Defense is seeking an Unit Deployment Manager (UDM) to deploy personnel and associated equipment, ensuring training & medical requirements are assigned and completed in preparation for deployment. Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience with military & deployments.
  • 8-10 years of experience in advising DoD communications projects.
  • An understanding of network security best practices.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with managers, supervisors, peers, and customers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and to take initiative.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and implement technical concepts.

  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision on assigned tasks.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, coordinate, and deploy personnel and/or equipment to specified location(s) as required.
  • Assist FOLs as needed for Deployment/Readiness process.
  • Monitor training and medical requirements of tasked personnel.
  • Report status of unit readiness monthly.
  • Track and brief deployed personnel and units readiness status to group leadership.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and update Physical Fitness Assessments of assigned personnel.
  • Initiate and maintain fitness program case file when a member scores Unsatisfactory on a Fitness Assessment.
  • Brief unit status of personnel fitness and any changes monthly to group leadership.
  • Attend quarterly Combined Functional Team (CFT) meetings.
  • Advise work area supervisors on any Environmental Management System policies and Monitor requirements for the unit.
  • Counsel between the installation environmental function and the unit leadership regarding spills, storage tanks, and air quality related issues/standards as per EPA, AFCEC, and State regulations.
