About The Position

Stamford Health is seeking a Unit Coordinator to support our Infusion Center! This is a Full-Time day position (M-F 8:00 am - 4:00 pm). Major Responsibilities: Scheduling/Registration Completes scheduling/registration of referrals approved by the Charge Nurse in a timely manner. Prints appropriate paperwork from EPIC registration. Creates and maintains patient charts for clinical staff containing appropriate paperwork. Schedules and modifies patient appointments as appropriate. Notifies staff of cancellations or add-ons in a timely manner. Reception: Greets patients in a friendly and courteous manner. Checks in patients upon arrival Explains notice of privacy practices to patients and maintains patient confidentiality. Provides patient identification band. Escorts patient as needed. Answers telephones (resolves patient queries, reroutes calls as appropriate, takes clear and concise messages) Checks telephone messages promptly and returns calls or refers messages to appropriate personnel. Unit-Based: Support and promotes hospital-wide unit & goals. Practices and promotes patient safety and quality of care with continual communication with licensed nurse. Documents pertinent information, observations, and all aspects of patient care cleary, consicely, and in a timely manner. Assists with education process for patients and families. Adheres to hospital and department-specific dress code policy. Orders and stocks unit-based clinical supplies. Participates in ongoing regulatory readiness compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • BLS, Heart Saver, or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Suite preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology/medical background preferred.
