About The Position

As the Unit Clerk, you will perform reception, clerical, and supportive duties in the patient care area. ACCOUNTABILITIES Performs all duties within job scope in accordance with standards or care, policies & procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Performs select clinical procedures within delegated parameters. Collaborates with all members of the health care team and physician offices to promote a seamless patient care continuum. Facilitates prompt, efficient patient services through organizing, prioritizing, and performing clerical activities. Prepares and maintains patient records according to standards / policy. Transcribes orders using the appropriate department forms and hospital abbreviations in an accurate and legible manner. Operates equipment necessary to perform job duties. Demonstrates good phone etiquette, perceived as helpful / friendly to all customers. Fields phone inquiries appropriately. Displays professionalism at all times and maintains patient confidentiality. Orders supplies and maintains inventory and par-levels assigned. Compiles statistical information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and surveys as assigned. Requirements

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent
  • Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must have keyboard skills and be able to accurately complete data entry and filing.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of mental and emotional tolerance, with the ability to function quickly and precisely in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas
