About The Position

Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health is looking for a fantastic Unit Clerk to be the heart of our unit operations! This isn't just an administrative role; you're the go-to person, the organizational maestro, and a vital point of contact that ensures our clinical teams can focus on what they do best – caring for our patients. You'll be the central point of coordination, ensuring all administrative tasks run like clockwork, directly supporting our nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals. Greet patients and visitors with a warm welcome and a helpful demeanor. You'll be the friendly voice on the phone and the reassuring presence answering patient call lights, making sure everyone feels heard and assisted. From processing admission paperwork to carefully managing discharge documents, you'll ensure seamless transitions for our patients. This includes expertly scheduling follow-up appointments and procedures that are crucial for their continued recovery. You'll be an active participant in team discussions, contributing to smooth shift transitions and helping us continuously improve how we serve our patients. You'll build positive relationships with everyone on the unit – patients, families, and staff alike. This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • High School / GED required.
  • One (1) year of clerical experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) required.
