DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: 7 East provides services to older adolescent, adult, and older adult cardiac patients, acute and chronic Heart Failure patients, as well as medical surgical patients who require cardiac monitoring. Patients on the unit require close and frequent assessment and skillful and timely clinical interventions in order to achieve their treatment goals. 7 East is a 32-bed unit and the average patient age is 64. SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Manager provides support for patients, visitors and colleagues on assigned nursing units. Facilitates efficient patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. Supports patient experience and culture of safety goals through equipment maintenance, unit supplies, unit appearance and overall environment of care. Provides reception type services to patients, families, visitors and other unit guests.

Requirements

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent
• Three to six months previous related experience
