Under the direction of Director of Clinical Operations, the Unit Clerk will perform a variety of front office physician duties. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Work the reception desk, answering phones, greet and communicate with patients, visitors, and providers Scheduling, cancelling, and rescheduling patient appointment Making appointment reminder telephone calls Insurance verification and verification of patient demographics Filing and retrieving medical records/files Copying and faxing duties Collecting co-pays and cash from patients, getting authorization on credit cards Entering charges, payments, and balancing the day in the computer system Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct, Mission Statement, and Model MRHS values/behaviors Must read, understand, and adhere to all physician services procedures Train peers as requested Perform other duties as assigned QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or GED Experience: Prior experience preferred Physical Requirements: Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to: Reaching and grasping with arms and hands Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy Using a keyboard to enter or transform words or data Hearing in normal and soft tones Ability to read and understand written English words and sentences Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English words and sentences Ability to understand spoken English words and sentences Ability to communicate with others by telephone and e-mail The demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
