Under supervision of the nurse manager or designee, the Unit Clerk/Registrar organizes the activities of the nurse station by performing clerical, reception, registration and support duties; maintaining the physical environment of the area; assuring adequate clerical supplies; coordinating transportation for patient intra hospital transfers; and filing documents into Medical record. The position requires exercise of judgment in clerical decisions, knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures, and the ability to follow diverse procedures. This role requires a calm, rational demeanor; effective job performance; and ability to multi-task in hectic, high-pressured, emotionally charged situations.
