About The Position

We're seeking an Acute Care Orthopedic Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical Department on Unit 2200, a 20-bed unit providing compassionate, comprehensive care to both medical and orthopedic patients. Our patient population includes individuals recovering from total hip and knee replacements, as well as those with podiatry needs, ischemic stroke, diabetes mellitus, sepsis, heart failure, renal disease, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Our team prides itself on collaborative, patient-centered care aimed at optimizing hospital stays and supporting self-efficacy after discharge. This RN will be a capable and compassionate clinician with broad experience and a solid understanding of how to care for this patient population. They will apply the Synergy Model for Care to personalize treatment for patients and their families, while acting as a knowledgeable resource and advocate within the interdisciplinary team.This individual will: Demonstrate broad clinical experience, applying knowledge, theory, and research to adapt to changing patient care needs. Use the Synergy Model for Care to personalize care for each patient and family, ensuring effective outcomes. Act as a resource for colleagues and a strong advocate for patients and families. Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care. Deliver safe, dependable care independently, utilizing the nursing process and demonstrating strong assessment skills. Plan and implement patient care with patient/family input, and adjust care plans as needed based on ongoing evaluation. Delegate appropriately using the Synergy Model and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and family care partners in care planning. Function in a developing leadership role, including serving as Charge Nurse and orienting staff/students as needed. Manage resources responsibly with a focus on cost containment, and utilize effective conflict resolution and communication skills. Participate in professional development, contribute to unit improvement initiatives, and meet Clinical Nurse I commitments and continuing education requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND A. 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, OR B. Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • OR, Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
  • A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire
  • Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
