About The Position

The Union Warehouse Associate plays an essential role in supporting daily warehouse operations by safely and efficiently handling produce and materials throughout the facility. This position is responsible for order picking, palletizing, loading and unloading freight, operating electric power jacks and forklifts, and completing shipping and receiving documentation in a fast-paced, unionized environment.

Requirements

  • Electric power jack experience required
  • Strong forklift operating experience required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Must be available to work first and second shifts, any day of the week, including weekends
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience preferred
  • Experience operating forklifts and electric power jacks required
  • Experience in produce or food distribution environments preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and move throughout the entire shift
  • Ability to work 8–14 hour shifts based on business needs and seniority
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including refrigerated warehouse environments

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in produce supply or food distribution
  • Familiarity with cold storage and temperature-controlled environments
  • Understanding of food safety and warehouse safety best practices
  • Experience working in a unionized workforce

Responsibilities

  • Manually move freight, stock, and other materials by hand or using electric power jacks and forklifts
  • Pick, palletize, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Load and unload produce shipments from trailers, delivery vehicles, and containers
  • Scan inventory in and out and process orders using the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Sort pallets, boxes, produce, and packing materials prior to loading and unloading
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to containers and shipments
  • Install protective devices such as bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure inventory protection and organization
  • Move produce and materials to and from storage, production areas, and loading docks
  • Read work orders or receive verbal instructions to determine work assignments
  • Complete required shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation
