About The Position

Position Summary: The Union Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for union-represented employees in accordance with collective bargaining agreements, federal and state regulations, and company policies. This role will analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data, maintain compliance with union reporting requirements, and serve as a key point of contact between Payroll, HR, Operations, and union representatives. The Union Payroll Analyst will also support process improvements, ensure accurate benefit and deduction reporting, and contribute to the overall integrity of payroll operations across multiple job sites and union jurisdictions. Essential Functions: Collaborate with construction field operations to ensure that payroll is closed accurately by performing all data collection and reconciliation of timesheets. Audit timecard and payroll integration results and perform analysis for various members of the organization. Serve as a primary contact for union payroll questions and support the resolution of any discrepancies in coordination with HR and Operations. Review and audit all hours, earnings, deductions, and special actions prior to each payroll processing. Interpret and apply union collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) including wage rates, fringe benefits, dues, apprenticeship contributions, and reciprocal agreements. Manage timesheets and organize data for approval by appropriate supervisors and managers. Review and work to continually improve payroll processing with the key objective to simplify, standardize in collaboration with corporate processes. Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization effectively by responding in a timely manner and providing strong customer service. Project accounting – support operations by reviewing timesheets for impacts on projects due to time and expenses. Reporting – Ad- hoc and monthly union wage and benefits reporting to local unions . Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree preferred
  • Required experience working in construction with labor unions
  • 3 to 5 years of construction experience in accounting, finance or payroll
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of IBEW and construction trade policies and procedure
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills is required
  • Ability to problem solve, work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in clear and concise manner with all levels of staff

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in construction industry with timekeeping software, Oracle, or other time and attendance applications
