About The Position

Join our team and take charge of processing union payrolls promptly, precisely, and in full compliance. As a Union Paymaster, you’ll showcase your expertise by efficiently handling all US union-related payrolls. We’re seeking someone with extensive knowledge of union contracts, ready to excel in ensuring seamless payroll operations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience processing payroll in a multi-union environment
  • Technologically savvy- can learn new systems quickly and has a high-level of proficiency with Excel and Google Suite
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate issues—and recommended solutions—that are complex in nature, both verbally and in writing, through various mediums
  • Experience collaborating with clients and internal departments to identify needs, prioritize requests, and build effective relationships
  • Ability to multitask and work proactively and independently in an ever changing environment
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule to accommodate workload and client needs

Responsibilities

  • Process union payroll within the stated processing time, accurately and compliantly
  • Synthesize, and correctly apply, information from complex collective bargaining agreements and simple mathematical rules when processing payroll
  • Ensure correct interpretation of union agreements and other provisions
  • Understanding of and ability to manually check calculations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry interpretations of union contracts and contract issues, and reporting practices
  • Build strong relationships with clients, union representatives, benefit plan representatives, and freelance production personnel
  • Independently research issues as they arise and suggest options for resolution
  • Assist in documenting process and procedures
  • Maintain clear, well-documented notes in all systems to ensure all parties across the organization have visibility into the status of a payroll
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve customer inquiries and other escalations and update Salesforce.com cases in a timely manner
  • Follow documented standard operating procedures
