The position involves diagnosing and repairing problems in fluidic, mechanical, and electric systems with assistance. The role requires the fabrication of articles from a variety of materials based on working drawings or blueprints. Responsibilities also include performing building repairs that involve roofs, carpentry, plumbing, electrical distribution, and masonry. The technician will repair or replace worn or defective parts, as well as the refractory of slot type furnaces. Additionally, the role includes installing conduit and water or air lines, and moving production equipment of all types. Miscellaneous duties may involve performing any lower-level tasks and participating in training programs. The technician is responsible for diagnosing breakdowns of equipment and facilities, determining procedures to carry out repairs using drawings, maintenance manuals, and manufacturer’s instructions. The principles of rigging and equipment installation will be utilized, and the technician will oversee any maintenance personnel assigned to the job. Flexibility is required to support ongoing maintenance activities on any shift, including weekends, with reasonable notice. A vast industrial mechanical and electrical experience and skills are essential.
