About The Position

Join Our Team at LRI 304th St. Landfill – a Waste Connections Company! We’re looking for an Equipment Operator to join our team at the LRI Landfill in Graham, WA. Impactful, Stable, Year-Round Work: As an Equipment Operator, you’ll play a key role in supporting site operations and meeting your community’s waste management needs—with consistent, year-round employment you can count on. Union Position & Competitive Pay: Starting at $30.12 per hour (80% of the union contract rate), you’ll earn $33.89 per hour (90%) after 6 months and $37.65 per hour (100%) after one year. Requirements

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment (compactors, dozers, excavators, and graders).
  • Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • A strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others; English proficiency is required for safety purposes, and Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
  • Must be able to work in environments with dust, loud noises, odors, and other conditions commonly found at a composting and recycling facility.

  • Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, excavators, skid steers, top picks, slow-speed grinders, tub grinders, and yard vehicles to move cans around the site.
  • Assist in unloading and loading materials.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure everything operates smoothly.
  • Direct traffic around the facility to ensure safety and order.
  • Monitor potential hazards and maintain a clean, organized site.
  • Offer excellent customer service when interacting with the community and team members.
