The person should be self-starter, adaptable with attentive to detail and able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time depending on project location.
  • Be able to work outside in different types of weather conditions (Cold, Snow, Rain and heat).
  • Experience in the installation of Maxcell, Microproduct, innerduct and fiber optic cable in a Data Center environment.
  • Experience in fiber splicing and testing.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
  • Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.
  • Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
  • Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Reading and comprehending blueprints, building documentation/redline work and cable schedules.
  • Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
  • Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
  • Must be capable of leading a crew of 5-10 technicians.
  • Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer for job requirements.
  • Accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employee that directly report to him/her.
  • Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
  • Be able to read and understand project design documents.
  • Ability to install various types of innerduct (EX: Maxcell, 1.25” ID and Microduct) and fiber optic cable.
  • Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs.
  • Possess skills to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations and should include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations.
  • Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
  • Track and review timesheets for your crew.
  • Maintaining paperwork and running service jobs.
  • Effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, Technicians and Superintendent.
  • Track lessons learned as they occur.
  • Coordinates with QAQC on quality status walks.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Project Close Out.
  • Identify the strengths and weaknesses of crew members.
  • Must be able to drive company vehicles and the ability to pull and back up trailers.
  • Must be able to blow fiber optic cables.
