About The Position

As a CBRE Union Carpenter, you'll perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair to various structures throughout a designated commercial facility. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. What You'll Do: • Oversee the general operation, repair, and maintenance of the building's structure and grounds. • Perform assigned repairs and emergency preventative maintenance. Complete maintenance repair records as required. • Build, dismantle, and repair structures, walls, roofs, glass, siding, scaffolding or facia. • Review assigned work orders and estimate time, materials, equipment, and tools to complete the repair. Order necessary materials and supplies as needed. • Review construction documents such as drawings, sketches, specifications, and maintenance logs. • Collaborate with employees, end users, and stakeholders concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the structure that needs to be built or repaired. • Ensure that all tools and equipment are thoroughly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety. • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. • Ensure the personal safety and safety of those who are affected by your work. • Participate in all HSE-related programs, activities, and training as required. This includes incident investigations, interviews, auditing, assessment, etc. • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management. • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion. • Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail. • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with up to 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
