About The Position

As a Unified Communications Specialist at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of communication systems. Your responsibilities will include the architecture, configuration, and maintenance of worldwide Voice, Video, and Chat infrastructure, both physical and virtual. You will be tasked with installing operating system and security patches, assessing vulnerabilities, and maintaining security compliance. Additionally, you will provide support for customer outages and serve as a resource for Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians across all communication platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies.
  • Strong background with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Meeting Server, Unified Contact Center, and/or Microsoft Skype for Business.
  • Experience managing virtualized applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to monitor and process Capabilities Service Desk tickets.
  • Certification 8570 is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and DHCP troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Session Border Controller (SBC) and SIP detailed traces.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the architecture, configuration, and maintenance of worldwide Voice, Video, and Chat infrastructure.
  • Installation of operating system and security patches.
  • Assessing the applicability of vulnerabilities and maintaining security compliance of the Voice, Video, and Chat infrastructure.
  • Provide support for customer scheduled and unplanned outages.
  • Serve as support for Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians across all communication platforms.
