A Long-Term Substitute is defined as a substitute for an assignment lasting more than 15 consecutive days for one teacher. Steps to Become a Long-Term Substitute Teacher: Complete an Online Employment Application and attach supporting documentation (copy of transcript, degree, teaching certificate, etc.). Minimum of 60 college credits required. Contact by school administration regarding position. Completion of fingerprinting/background check and I-9.
