The Ohio Education Association (OEA) is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the position of UniServ Labor Relations Consultant. This role is pivotal in assisting the United Education Profession in achieving its goals through effective membership recruitment, promotion, and engagement. The consultant will provide support to local associations and members in various areas, including organizing, collective bargaining, member rights advocacy, local development and training, professional efficacy, and political advocacy. In this challenging and rewarding position, the consultant will plan, assist, and serve as a consultant to local associations during the collective bargaining process. They will also advocate for member rights and advise local leaders on operational matters while assisting in the development of local association programs. The consultant will be responsible for creating and disseminating communications and may act as a public spokesperson when assigned. Additionally, the consultant will collaborate with local associations to develop effective public relations programs and utilize OEA/NEA resources to provide programs and support through workshops and training opportunities. They will also assist local associations with political advocacy at various levels and provide support during crisis situations. The role requires a proactive approach to organizing activities and collaboration with UniServ Organizers. The consultant will also be responsible for planning and delivering training for leaders and members, serving in field operations as needed, and acting as a liaison and subject matter expert. Attendance at major conferences and workshops is expected to disseminate relevant information obtained from professional training. Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor as necessary.
