The Office of Unemployment Insurance Operations (OUIO) administers Ohio's unemployment insurance program, which provides short-term income to unemployed workers who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. It reduces the hardship felt by families during periods of temporary unemployment and bolsters the local economies by maintaining the purchasing power of the unemployed worker. This position manages outreach efforts across the state, works with different teams to provide in-person services, and looks for ways to improve programs and community involvement. What You Will Do Act on behalf of the Bureau Chief to lead staff, manage statewide outreach, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements. Direct staff, facilitate policy meetings, and assume full authority in the Bureau Chief's absence. Develop and update programs and policies, provide technical guidance and prepare official reports and presentations. Oversee personnel and services, support onboarding and coordinate staff training initiatives. Represent the Bureau Chief at meetings and conferences with state, federal and community partners.

Requirements

  • OPTION 1: Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.
  • OPTION 2: Completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
  • OPTION 3: 5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.
  • OPTION 4: 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123.
  • OPTION 5: Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
