Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Prior experience in insurance a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured training program covering underwriting principles, transportation industry knowledge, and company systems.
• Learn BHS's appetite and underwriting guidelines to evaluate and select profitable risks.
• Review new business submissions for completeness and assess risk in alignment with company standards.
• Develop negotiation and relationship-building skills to work effectively with agents and brokers.
• Collaborate with Assistant Underwriters, Senior Underwriters, Operations Staff, and Senior Leadership to solicit, quote, and bind risks.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in underwriting systems and ensure compliance with internal processes.
