About The Position

Underwriting Support Specialist Hybrid Work Schedule Buffalo, NY Merchants Insurance Group is a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast and is looking for an Underwriting Support Specialist to join our Corporate Headquarters located in Buffalo, New York. The Underwriting Support Specialist will become part of a dedicated team focusing on providing support to Merchants Insurance Group’s Regional and local underwriting offices in processing policy endorsements, cancellations, quotes and motor vehicle reports and a variety of other support work for the Regional and local Offices. Requirements

  • High school diploma, 2-year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a Property & Casualty insurance environment.
  • Experience with processing core commercial lines policy transactions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Computer experience including Microsoft office experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience using a document management system, ImageRight preferred.
  • Experience using third party applications, Lexis Nexis and ISO preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process core policy transactions for all regional and local underwriting offices, including endorsements, cancellations, DMV IIES and other transactions as assigned.
  • Orders and processes report ordering for all regional underwriting offices, including Attracts Scores, Motor Vehicle Reports, and Loss Run Reports.
  • Collaborates with agents and loss payees to research undeliverable return mail to determine the correct address and processes the changes as needed.
  • Responsible for scanning and indexing all incoming mail, faxes and emails to the appropriate ImageRight file.
