As an Underwriting Service Specialist II, you will be responsible for the processing portion of the underwriting life cycle of policies. Assists with rate and functionality testing and verification in various policy rating platforms and ad hoc processing projects on an as-needed basis, up to and including corrective endorsements and other policy updates. This role is responsible for processing aspects of Workers Comp policies throughout the policy lifecycle, including but not limited to: policy issuance, endorsements, cancel/rewrites, preparation of renewal files and other policy changes.

  • Processing of midterm change endorsements
  • Entity changes, cancel/rewrites, and other policy changes as needed
  • Working with renewal teams to coordinate communications around significant changes during policy term to ensure appropriate renewal reviews year over year
  • Ad hoc work with product & compliance teams to test rates and other system functionality and data
  • Providing feedback & helping to test with product & engineering teams
  • Corrective endorsements for Work Comp bureau error reports as needed
  • Batch processing for book rolls and other large volume quoting & submission needs
  • Supporting UA & UW teams with data entry or file prep work as needed
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial insurance is required
  • Developed problem solving skills to be able to manage tasks and work through to solutions with little guidance and direction
  • Demonstrated self-direction and responsibility for own tasks, deliverables and timelines
  • Ability to eagerly learn from mistakes, and frequently search for opportunities to raise the bar and continually improve
  • Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen eye for detail with the ability to accurately transcribe information from one source to another
  • Developing leadership skills and some general experience leading work groups or task forces in specific projects
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) with the ability to deliver complex information effectively
  • General knowledge and familiarity of cloud-based systems, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slack, Salesforce, and Adobe skills
