Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA) in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in an insurance underwriting role.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and review rates for new groups and active groups.
• Make sound and deep analyses with recommendations, based on the guidelines established.
• Communicate with account representatives, clinical personnel, and others to obtain information before determining rates to be quoted.
• Determine the adequacy and appropriateness of data used in the rate determination process.
• Evaluate complex risks across various lines of business, including ASO and stoploss arrangements, assessing potential exposures and loss potentials.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identifying trends, emerging risks, and areas of concern, and recommending strategies to optimize risk selection and profitability.
• Assist in meetings with brokers in the process of negotiating rates.
• Facilitate business knowledge transfer and provide technical training to more junior underwriting analysts.
