The Underwriting Processes Trainer- Commercial Lines role is a hybrid position, and candidates may be considered from either our Reno, NV, or Monterey, CA locations. Job Overview Underwriting Processes Trainer - Commercial is responsible for the Commercial Lines training function and supporting the Client Services Management team in fulfilling the objectives for Commercial Lines business by providing prompt, accurate and courteous service to agents, policyholders, and business partners concerning policy processing, customer inquiries, and requests for information. The position will be responsible for the training and support of the Underwriting Assistant group in conjunction with the Commercial Underwriting Processes Manager. This individual will provide input for enhancements to the policy and billing systems, agency interface, policy processing, and phone systems. The position must maintain effective working relationships with other departments and communicate company service objectives to ensure customer satisfaction and business retention. This person may be required to hold a current Property & Casualty license. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: Underwriting principles, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Rating plans (ISO or similar) and Commercial Lines coverages
  • Underwriting philosophy and procedure
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license and accommodate routine business travel
  • College degree (or equivalent experience) and three to five years of experience in a commercial lines agency or company.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of technical insurance coursework preferred, such as CPCU, AU, ARM, CRM or CIC.

Responsibilities
