Underwriting Operations Internship Objective The internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the insurance industry, how a carrier operates, including the inner workings of the organization. The intern will have the opportunity to get exposure to key departments and participate in different efforts within the transformation journey to support our business goals. Key Learning Opportunities: - Insurance Operations Fundamentals and Terminologies: Understanding of various departments’ role in an insurance organization and how they work together to support agent and policyholder experience. - Underwriting Workflow and Tools & Data and Reporting Basics: Hands on exposure to rating systems, risk evaluation processes, underwriting guidelines and decision support tools. - Transformation and Underwriting Project Experience: Participation in a defined transformation and underwriting projects such as evaluating workflow improvements or supporting an initiative that enhances underwriting effectiveness. - Data and Analytics: Understanding data that drives underwriting risk selection and pricing, and key metrics for continuous improvement of underwriting efficiency and effectiveness. This is a 30 hour per week summer position, lasting approximately 10 weeks. This internship will be located in Atlanta GA - Remote.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in degree program going into Junior or Senior year preferably pursuing a degree in business, finance, human resources, insurance or risk management.
  • Must have demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced setting, team engagement with a remote setting, and project-based work.
  • Computer proficiency for Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel), data entry, process or workflow mapping (Visio, Miro, Lucidchart or other).
