About The Position

This role is a great fit for a call center people leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands what it takes to lead high-performing underwriting teams. PCI is seeking an Underwriting Manager with a strong background in consumer credit or risk decisions who is passionate about coaching, consistency, and quality. The right candidate will understand the impact of underwriting decisions on customers and the business, relate well to underwriting teams, and enjoy partnering with Credit Risk to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Lead, coach, and develop a team of buyers in a call center-style operational environment, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management. Oversee daily underwriting operations, ensuring consistent and accurate application of underwriting policies and Credit Risk guidelines. Serve as an escalation point for complex, exception-based, or out-of-policy credit decisions. Monitor and manage performance metrics such as approval rates, turnaround time, error rates, and quality assurance results. Partner closely with Credit Risk, Compliance, and Product teams to improve underwriting workflows, tools, and decisioning efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of people leadership with direct reports responsibility and 5 years of experience in consumer credit underwriting, risk management, or credit decisioning.
  • Strong working knowledge of credit bureau data, credit scoring models, income verification, and debt-to-income analysis.
  • Proven ability to support and relate to underwriting teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to operate effectively in a data-driven setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automated or model-driven underwriting environments.
  • Exposure to fraud prevention, KYC/AML, or identity verification tools.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally to improve operational processes.

Responsibilities
