Underwriting Billing Specialist $19.28 - $23.13 Minimum Starting Pay Job Level: Individual Contributor Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. What You Will Be Doing: Prompt processing of returned payments to obtain replacement money or cancel coverage to eliminate complications for policyholders. Perform a variety of duties associated with recurring payment plans, including processing policy changes and maintaining accuracy of billing system. Communicate daily with agents, customer service representatives, policyholders, and financial institutions concerning payment plans, fees, and system navigation. Serve as subject matter expert to resolve payment related problems and questions. Coordinate financial transactions with other departments including wire transfers, credit card payment errors, bank errors, and other payment transactions. Follow up and advise agents on outstanding EFT authorization forms. What We’re Looking For: Strong customer service skills. Above average knowledge of math calculations. Excellent oral and written communication skills for interaction with agents, policyholders, and other Company Personnel with regard to billing procedures. Capacity to maintain current knowledge of policy provisions for all lines of Property and Casualty insurance. The ability to perform the position with close to moderate supervision. Requirements
