About The Position

Underwriting Assistant Tokio Marine HCC – Surety Group, a member of the Tokio Marine Group of Companies, has an exciting, entry level opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant at our Blue Bell, PA branch office. Are you a multi-tasker able to handle multiple processes at the same time? Are you a good detective for finding inconsistencies and missing information? We are looking for a motivated individual to support our team of commercial bond underwriters by servicing thousands of different commercial surety bonds. Our Blue Bell office is comprised of a collaborative team of professionals. The primary responsibility of the Underwriting Assistant is to assist our Underwriters with day-to-day tasks. Additionally, assist with developing future opportunities through collaborative, service-minded business relationships. Requirements

  • Basic understanding of financial information and analytical skills
  • Keen eye for accuracy, details, finding errors / missing information
  • Customer service mindset – responsive with external customers and internal colleagues
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
  • Curiosity to learn, and initiative to do more

Nice To Haves

  • College graduate is preferred.
  • AP/Billing background is a plus
  • Facility with using programs, systems, and gathering information from multiple sources

Responsibilities

  • Assist Underwriters with day-to-day tasks.
  • Review of company information profiles for completeness and accuracy
  • Researching company histories
  • Maintaining agent records
  • Assist with developing future opportunities through collaborative, service-minded business relationships.
  • Assist with quotes.
  • Set up electronic files and gather reports from various sources.
  • Accurately enter critical and technical information into systems.
  • Prepare internal documents.
  • Effectively prioritize assignments to support multiple team members.
  • Easily navigate between systems to maintain client accounts and process team’s requests.
