The Underwriting Assistant position involves invoicing policies and coordinating the servicing of new and renewal accounts from the time of binding, adhering to Company guidelines, and proactively addressing potential issues. The role requires providing high-quality professional service to Agents and Companies. Key responsibilities include underwriting renewal business with minimal underwriter supervision, accurately explaining liability and other program coverages to clients, and providing instructions to Underwriting Clerks and Policy Typists. The assistant will also evaluate and make necessary changes to policies, endorsements, audits, and cancellations, conduct ratings for new and renewal business, and manage all account documentation. Further duties include processing policy servicing requests, invoicing new business and renewal binders, establishing new submissions in the clearance system, producing cancellation and non-renewal notices, and maintaining underwriting files and pending/suspense systems.
