About The Position

The Underwriting Assistant at Velocity Risk plays a crucial role in supporting the MMB Underwriting team by managing the day-to-day servicing and processing of new business and renewal accounts. This position emphasizes attention to detail and quality processing throughout the policy lifecycle, ensuring that underwriting KPIs are met. Requirements

• College degree preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Ability to prioritize job responsibilities to meet internal service standards.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of its importance in the business.
• Strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Processes quotes, binders, and endorsements under the direction of an underwriter or Senior Underwriting Assistant.
• Follows up with brokers on outstanding subjectivities and inspection contact information.
• Reviews, finalizes, and issues drafted policies.
• Processes Broker of Record (BOR) letters.
• Maintains underwriting files by ensuring all relevant documents are included and adhere to naming conventions.
• Processes non-renewals and cancellation letters.
• Assists with special projects as needed.
