About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Underwriting Assistant to join our Construction team. This role is essential to supporting the underwriting lifecycle; from submission through issuance, while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our underwriting operations. You’ll work closely with underwriters and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality service and technical expertise.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of technical experience in an insurance/reinsurance company
Solid understanding of specialized insurance concepts related to construction insurance
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including pivot tables), Outlook, and Word; PowerPoint a plus
Strong organization, analytical, and time management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities

Provide critical support to underwriters on end-to-end underwriting processes, from initial submission review through policy issuance and post-bind activities
Operate and maintain proficiency in various underwriting systems
Manage multiple workflows and maintain visibility into task status and deadlines
Assist in creating quotes, binders, certificates, and endorsements
Ensure all documentation is properly filed and compliant with audit standards
Review policies and discuss changes with underwriters
Collaborates and corresponds with internal and external contacts
Monitor account receivables and assist the accounting team with reconciliation
Participate in User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements
Contribute to special projects and assignments as needed
