Requirements

  • 1-3 Years of Credit or Underwriting experience required
  • Ideal candidate must possess strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and bank statements across both commercial and consumer portfolios
  • Excellent active listening, consultation, influencing and resourcefulness skills
  • Strong communication skills are necessary to be able to deliver adverse messages to customers
  • Critical, analytical, and forward thinking with problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in handling multiple demands and the ability to move quickly and efficiently between varying account types and work streams
  • Resolve complex problems in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of leadership and cultivate great working relationship with business partners
  • Candidate must demonstrate ability to work in a cohesive team environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, verbal, and written skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver world-class customer experience, whilst being responsible for communicating Underwriting decision and explaining how financial and internal history support line decision for both Consumer and Commercial accounts
  • Manage an existing portfolio of Consumer and Commercial customers with accountability for managing relationship, requesting updated financial information, and making a recommendation based on financial performance and risk policies
  • Responsible for analyzing customer accounts by leveraging Amex program attributes, performance, credit bureau information, financial and bank statement analysis
  • Act in a consultative manner with internal and external Amex customers
  • Meet and exceed quality goals, compliance regulations, implement decision with appropriate in-house support and productivity targets
  • Keep an accurate and robust record of all cases completed and outcomes
  • Demonstrate high level of accuracy and thoroughness in implementing Underwriting decisions
  • Prioritize and adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrate personal excellence by remaining positive in difficult situations
  • Display a passion to serve by delivering outstanding service in every interaction with our customers
