Perform day-to-day underwriting activities; track underwriting actions for company referrals, make recommendations and ensure timely resolution of underwriting referrals; handle policy change requests and process data entry evaluate underwriting considerations; and execute follow-up action as needed.
Review and analyze error reports and provide resolution.
Evaluate risks for insurance to value to comply with product specific requirements.
Review property inspections for new business and/or renewals for property or liability concerns, recommend action, and track inspection status to take timely action.
Provide insights and trends from inspection report reviews for underwriting and product development enhancements.
Review, evaluate and monitor inspection reports for compliance and loss prevention.
Review and summarize content of claim files for claim coverage, handle claims referrals from adjusters, assess claim and underwriting files for recission action, and review prior claim & litigation disputes.
Assist in reviewing claim files to evaluate the application of critical endorsements at the time of loss.
Communicate with wholesalers, retail agents and individual insureds as necessary to assure high quality of data, underwrite exception risks, analyze and interpret coverage, and explain underwriting requirements and philosophies.
Contribute to preparing detailed business requirements for underwriting related projects for new products, system changes and enhancements.
Perform and validate system testing and communicate results.
Conduct policy reviews ensuring compliance with underwriting rules, policies, practices, and procedures.
Support Senior Underwriters, Data and Risk Analysts on projects, workflows, and underwriting data quality related procedures.
Execute underwriting project research to develop and improve underwriting policies, practices, procedures, workflows, and systems.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or requested.
3-5 years of Personal Lines Property-Casualty underwriting experience.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates an aptitude for expanding their underwriting knowledge.
Experience using Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Teams and familiarity with other insurance software.
