About The Position

We are seeking an Underwriter for a full-time role. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and funding files, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations. This position is pivotal in assessing lending risk, preparing documentation, and making final funding decisions.

Requirements

General awareness of underwriting and experience in financial and risk backgrounds.

Experience working with non-traditional loan models.
Strong communication skills for maintaining relationships and resolving issues.

Responsibilities

Identify and assess the risk of lending by reviewing financial documents and business profiles.
Prepare files by gathering and organizing all necessary documentation for funding decisions.
Make final decisions on whether a business qualifies for funding and under what terms.
Ensure all deals meet internal and regulatory compliance standards.
Evaluate and approve funding applications.
Take on leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior staff and contributing to strategic decisions about lending policies.
Review and determine outcomes of funding requests for non-traditional loan models.
Verify incoming documentation for accuracy using company and lender guidelines.
Generate contract requests and collect all necessary information prior to funding.
Work directly with the sales team and other parties to resolve issues.
Maintain constant communication with representatives at other firms through email and task-based methods.
Utilize the internet and other resources to verify information accuracy.
Interpret credit approvals and clear credit stipulations by gathering proper supporting documentation.
Understand the structure of working capital business loans and advances.
Work with and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
Verbally confirm terms and conditions of contracts with borrowers on manually funded transactions.
Fund all working capital files in a timely manner.
