Seeking a candidate who enjoys providing creative solutions for our partners, embraces technology and is constantly thinking of a better way to do things. The ideal applicant works well in a team-oriented environment, is able to manage their time appropriately to ensure all deadlines and expectations are met, can work efficiently through tasks, can effectively build and maintain relationships by utilizing a strong set of soft skills and is comfortable analyzing and discussing basic insurance data in order to drive their external partners towards production and profitability goals. Our organization is focused on providing growth opportunities to its staff through constant and quality underwriting training, offering funding and incentives for continuing education designations, and creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone to bring their true selves to work. In this role, an underwriter is expected to handle daily referrals for hard-to-place homeowners risks, manage external partners towards production and profitability goals, conduct and create training and participate in team projects. Quarterly travel is required for both training and agency visits. Applicant will need to be proficient in all Microsoft Office products. Does this sound like you? Requirements

  • 2+ years property underwriting or insurance experience (homeowners and/or surplus lines preferred)
  • Ability to work on central time zone schedule
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Office 365
  • Experience in agency relationship management (wholesale preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite a growing E&S Homeowners and Dwelling book within authority and by meeting referral count requirements
  • Manage assigned partners to ensure profitable growth and gain market feedback
  • Produce and conduct training as needed
  • Participate in group projects
  • Effectively manage your personal inbox and also contribute to the management of shared recourse boxes
