About The Position

The Underwriter for Financial Lines will be responsible for understanding the fundamentals of coverage, terms, and conditions. The role requires the ability to offer coverage that generates profit for the company while meeting customer needs across various products, including Directors & Officers Liability, Professional Liability for Asset Managers and Funds (including hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital), Bankers Professional Liability, Insurance Company Professional Liability, Security Broker-Dealer Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, and Fidelity Risk Assessment. The position involves performing risk analysis for Financial Institutions clients, identifying risk exposures, and selecting risks based on exposure and risk analysis. The Underwriter must also analyze claims, quantify losses, and possess financial proficiency, including an understanding of financial statements and ratios used in risk analysis. Knowledge of insurance financial fundamentals and credit risk is essential, as well as an understanding of actuarial fundamentals, loss trends, and ratemaking. The role also includes marketing and communications responsibilities, requiring the ability to sell and negotiate for profitability, make presentations, and manage producer strategy while cross-marketing with other underwriting groups.
