About The Position

The Underwriter for Entertainment at Hiscox USA is responsible for driving new property and casualty business as well as managing complex renewals within the Entertainment sector. This role offers a unique opportunity for both property/casualty generalists and entertainment specialists to work in a dynamic team environment, tailoring insurance policies to meet the specific needs of various entertainment-related businesses. The position emphasizes entrepreneurial thinking, risk management, and collaboration with brokers and the national entertainment team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Property & Casualty Middle Market Package coverages; Entertainment experience preferred but not required.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for superior customer service.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit and a desire to share information across divisions.
  • Proven track record of delivering meaningful underwriting profit.
  • Outgoing, driven, with high attention to detail and results-focused mentality.
  • Ability to identify business needs effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.
  • B.A./B.S degree is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the East Coast up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite, price, and negotiate accounts in line with company strategy and guidelines.
  • Develop new broker relationships and enhance existing ones throughout the East Coast region.
  • Engage with the national entertainment team for collaborative learning and teaching.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Monitor product results and generate ideas to boost productivity and profitability.
  • Travel regionally for industry events and broker visits as needed.
