About The Position

The Underwriter position at Chubb involves managing a renewal book of $8 million and generating new business of approximately $2-3 million annually. The role focuses on driving profitable growth with assigned agents and brokers, particularly in the Upstate New York territory, across various insurance products including Package, Property, General Liability, Auto, Worker's Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, and International. The ideal candidate will possess strong underwriting acumen, sales and marketing skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Property & Casualty lines of business.
  • Proven marketing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • High degree of proficiency with the underwriting process and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and pricing/rate strategies.

  • Identify opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources.
