About The Position

Orica is hiring an Underground Field Support Technician who provides maintenance, reliability support and management role for process equipment located at Pogo Mine. Work Schedule & Logistics•    14 days on / 14 days off•    12 hour shifts•    Overnight stays at mine-camps•    Position requires physical labor and ability to lift 50lbs.  Sometimes at a plant/manufacturing level and other times in the field, in Alaska seasonal weather.•    Rotating position shared with another Technician (2 week on/off intervals)•    Travelling to Fairbanks by air and to customer site by company provided vehicles•    Will be provided any/all necessary PPE and tools to do the work•    Transportation and tools provided

Requirements

  • At least a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid US Passport

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of light vehicle or diesel mechanic experience is a plus
  • At least two years of construction or mining industry experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • On-site field support in accordance with Orica Hypercharge Drive contract agreements in and around an active underground metal mine
  • On-call for field equipment and equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Occasionally assist as-needed in plant operation and support.
  • Coordination of two-yearly Pump Protection proof testing Role model in the use of Orica safety systems e.g. Alteration Authorities, Permit to Work and UIRs.
  • Coordination and completion of 60-day maintenance inspections on underground pump units.
  • Provide specialist equipment training.
  • Provide onsite and phone based technical support.
  • Provide feedback to Management on common mode failures and communicate appropriate actions back to regional operations.
  • Use - Alteration Authorities, Clearances, Work Orders and UIRs.
  • Regional equipment documentation kept up to date in SAP.
  • Assist regional Technical Services team with basic field work.
  • Occasional on-bench presence at mine, quarry, and construction sites as needed and as directed by Tech Services Lead.
  • Open to respond to emergency repairs that are needed
  • Travel (one time) to Western Australia for 2-3 week position-specific training (passport required)
