About The Position

The Undergraduate Sandwich Intern will be involved in capturing critical data from botanical books, which is essential for accurate conservation and policy decisions. This role focuses on screening books for new data and incorporating that information into the International Plant Names Index (IPNI) and the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP) databases. The internship will also explore decentralized data incorporation models, particularly through World Flora Online (WFO), to ensure data quality comparable to IPNI and WCVP. Applicants should have some knowledge of working with scientific plant names.
