About The Position

The position involves conducting research in a laboratory setting focused on various silicon-based polymeric materials. The candidate will be expected to engage in a variety of tasks including synthesizing new materials through chemical reactions, characterizing these materials, and maintaining a detailed laboratory notebook. Weekly presentations of research findings are also a key component of this role, along with collaboration with graduate students in the research process.

Requirements

  • Junior standing or higher
  • Have taken CHEM 3410 and CHEM 3440
  • Major in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Physics, Medical Sciences, Forensics, or Geology
  • Previous laboratory research experience in the Furgal Laboratory (SURF, CURS, or Credit)

  • Previous non-paid research experience through coursework or volunteer
