About The Position

The intern will be an integral member of the Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) team. Our mission is to establish the USTA as the definitive authority on the state of tennis in the United States through data, analytics, and research, ultimately supporting the tennis ecosystem and growing the game. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in exploratory data analysis. The intern will take projects from initial problem statement through to final insights and stakeholder presentations, gaining practical exposure to the full analytical workflow. In this high-impact role, you will work closely with our analysts to: Dive into player data: Analyze survey results to uncover the “why” behind player retention and churn Map the market: Use localized research to identify opportunity zones, areas where demand for tennis is strong but access to courts and programs is limited Tell the story with data: Contribute to key research projects and help build clear, compelling presentations that translate insights into action Program details: 8-week program from June 9 through August 11 Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site at our Orlando Office. Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data cleaning and basic analysis tools
  • Some prior experience with data analysis (coursework, projects, or internships)
  • Curious, analytical, and excited to solve real-world problems with data
  • Strong communicator with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to take ownership of projects from start to finish

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with basic statistical models or concepts
